A Double Birthday of Creativity & Calm

Two birthdays in one called for something different, relaxing and more memorable than the usual birthday fuss. This year, mother and daughter, opted for an evening of creativity to work through their dreams and desires they want to see unfold.

With rain howling out the window, the small intimate group gathered around the table in the softly lit room covered with magazines, 12x12 art boards, scissors, glue, acrylic paint pens and stencils ready to be transformed.

As the ladies began to flip through the stacks of magazines, they let their words and images speak for them. Some people knew exactly what they wanted to create while other let their intuition guide them. Snips of color and inspiration filled -travel photos, affirmations and nature scenes.

Each board became a reflection of inner hopes and desires. Using stencils and acrylic pens, words of encouragement were outlined, added doodles, and added images that made their hearts light up. It wasn't about perfections as much as it was about presence.
