A Reason to Celebrate

ree

Usually, you celebrate because you've done something amazing, or you've been rewarded for something you've done that other's think is amazing.

But the reason I'm celebrating today is none of these. I'm celebrating because I'm alive. I'm here in good health and high spirits, and every day I wake up I get another chance to create something new with my paints and brushes.

It's like Beyonce's new song -"Be Alive"- says, "It feels so good to be alive. Got all my family by my side." True words from beginning to end, especially after learning today of the loss of both the sister and mom of my fellow artist friend Arlene and my former boss, Mr. Bobb.

In remembering their lives, I reflect on my own knowing they once were here and have contributed in some way to my very existence. Arlene's family in providing me with a wonderful and talented friend, and a former boss who would always encourage me to go to the next level and whom I will always remember.

So as bittersweet as this day is, it is a day to celebrate the conscious and unconscious contributions of others in my life.

And I urge you to do the same.

Don't wait for something big to happen.

For the trophies and accolades to come.

Celebrate every day you wake up and put your feet on the ground.

It is one more opportunity to live, breathe, give thanks and celebrate.

So never stop celebrating each moment you are here.

Be blessed

Anna Marie
