New Landscape Painting

ree

New landscape painting inspired by one of my favorite neighborhood parks, Grant Park.

Besides the playground, exercise machines and ball parks, Grant Park boasts a large pond surrounded by a variety of trees, shrubs and wildlife.

The footpath around the pond is one of the most tranquil places within the park and provides a lovely spot to relax and enjoy flourishing trees and flowers in spring and cool off from the summer heat.

An early version with flower field replaced by other types of trees.

Sky added.

Another image at an earlier stage when I thought a flower field might be a nice compliment.

Here, workspace is setup on an ironing board in a spare room, which has two large windows and lots of window light flowing through giving the feeling of being in the open air.

I decided to work here because a documentary about a famous Artist I had never heard of was showing that I wanted to see.

Painting in the spare room was neat because I could both paint and watch the documentary at the same time.

Audobon was the name of the documentary.

Hope you liked the piece.
